About Us (written by year 4 pupils of Clifford Primary)
Clifford Primary School is a welcoming and exciting place to work, where challenge, excellence and enjoyment underpins our approach to education. Our School was built in 1837 and is situated on the original site near Hay On Wye in the beautiful Golden Valley.
Teachers And Staff
We have a lot of kind staff who teach us very well with interesting lessons. The teachers will take care of you if you are hurt. If you have any worries in school or outside of school your teacher will arrange a time to talk with you and try their hardest to help you solve your problem.
Our school is eco friendly. We try our best to reduce, reuse and recycle, save water and not use too much electricity. On November 19th 2013 Clifford Primary School had a whole day with no electricity. We have won the Eco Schools Green Flag award.
Every year we hold lots of events some of our favourites are; our summer production and Christmas carol concert, our Guy Fawkes making competition, sports' day, country markets, assemblies for parents and friends and our helpers tea party when we say thank you to everyone who has helped us during the year.
Every term we have lots of different clubs on offer for example; homework, Mad Science, culture, sports, walking and a lunchtime sports club. There has also been music, reading, Eco and gardening club, Master Chef, dance, drumming and friendship club. Children of all ages can attend these popular after-school activities run by our teachers or sports coaches.
Every half term pupils from each class walk to a nearby forest and do very exciting tasks; making bug houses, a den for humans, wooden pictures frames, collages, measuring trees, identifying wildlife, finding out about woodland management, lighting fires and sometimes the teacher will bring fruit and hot chocolate!
